Business Analyst

About us

Healthcare Logic (HCL) is one of Queensland’s fastest growing technology start-ups, and we are aiming for global market leadership within the next five years. We build software to help hospitals work better. We are fully funded and currently transacting in five jurisdictions. Our flagship product is SystemView: a new-to-the-world analytics platform using high-frequency data automation and a proprietary UI to give clinical and executive leaders in hospitals previously unobtainable insights and actionable data. We currently have more than 60 staff and are growing.

To continue building out our product team, we are now looking for a committed and motivated individual to join us at an exciting time of rapid expansion. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of complex analytical solutions in SystemView and other HCL products.

About the role

Working closely with the Chief Product Officer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Engaging with our Product Managers, Customer Success Team, Software Development team leaders and UX/UI designers to elicit requirements, perform gap analysis, impact assessments, user story refinement and functional specification development including high-level reviews of work completed.
  • Owning the documentation related to SystemView components on analysis.
  • Assisting with sprint prioritisation and backlog grooming.
  • Understanding internal business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Working with the test team to support solution testing.
  • Identifying issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business and client impacts.

About you

To succeed you must be energetic, organised and love working in a fast-paced environment. You must be known for fostering a culture of continual improvement and act as a facilitator, negotiator and mediator who works collaboratively to achieve outcomes. These skills and experience will help get you onto the shortlist.

2+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst.

Knowledge of Hospital and Healthcare Systems and processes.

Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting requirements, performing gap analysis and impact assessment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (proven track record).

Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills with a strong customer focus.

Exposure to the software development lifecycle within Agile environments.

Comfortable with data analysis methodologies and database system terminology.

Be a critical thinker with strong analytical and independent, problem-solving skills.

Be a confident presenter with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior leaders and to manage stakeholder meetings.

Desired experience

Experience in hospital and health service management.

Exposure to Data Analysis, Statistics and Business Intelligence tools and methodologies.

SQL Skills (MS SQL Server/TSQL).

ABOUT THE ROLE

To continue building out our front-end engineering team, we are now looking for a committed and motivated individual to join us at an exciting time of rapid expansion. If you are a passionate web developer and are hungry for developing state-of-the-art application using modern technology stack, this role is for you.

You will be joining a multi-talented and diverse team of Web engineer with responsibilities include:

  • Developing and building new component and Web feature using JavaScript (ES6+) and utilising modern frameworks such as ReactJS, Redux, GraphQL, TypeScript and ExpressJS/NodeJS.
  • Contribute to improving our test framework, i.e. Cypress
  • Participating in improving our design and contribute to development of new UI/UX design.
  • Providing technical and helpdesk support to other part of the business, including debugging, troubleshooting of technical issue during an outage or identified bugs.
  • Participating in code and peer review process.
  • Improving our CI/CD pipelines and maintaining solution on Azure Devops platform.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of front-end technologies and stay abreast of current industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Improving secure web development practices and methodologies of SystemView application.

SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

These skills and experience will help get you onto the shortlist:

  • A degree in Computer Science or similar, or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge in web application development. A portfolio of your recent projects will be useful to help us understand your ability.
  • 3+ years' experience working intimately in JavaScript and exposure to modern JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS, Redux, GraphQL, NodeJS/ExpressJS, WebSocket/Socket.io, TypeScript, Webpack, NPM, and test framework such as Cypress.
  • Experience using Git repository such as Bitbucket, Github, Azure Devops and other PaaS technology.
  • Experience in setting up CI/CD pipeline and using tools such as Azure Devops, Bamboo, Travis, Jenkins, as well as other CI/CD tools.
  • Experience in database design especially RDBMS and have developed application using one of the database engines such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MongoDB.
  • Experience and skills in developing application using SPA architecture, build systems, cross browser compatibility and HTML5/CSS layout, including SASS, UI/UX knowledge and wireframing.
  • Prior experience with application or web development working in fast-paced agile and exposure to modern collaborative tools such as Scrum and Test-Driven Development.
  • Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Healthcare data preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with Amazon AWS or Azure Cloud Platform, in particular App Services and Virtual Machines are highly desirable.
  • Experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines will get you shortlisted for this position.
  • Experience writing automated tests for front end and back end JavaScript.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To continue building out our web & platform engineering team, we are now looking for a committed and motivated individual to join us at an exciting time of rapid expansion. If you are a passionate solution designer and architect and are hungry for defining and rolling out state-of-the-art patterns for large scale applications using modern cloud-native technology, this role is for you. You will be reporting directly to the director of engineering Web & Platform, with a dotted line to our Chief Architect.

You will be joining a multi-talented and diverse team of web, data and DevOps engineers with responsibilities including:

  • Work with Product Owners and engineers to develop architectural plans that align with the Product Roadmap.
  • Develop detailed Software Architectural designs that encompass all elements of the Software Stack including Front End Web, Business Logic Layer API, Data Architecture and Integration with Customer Systems.
  • Produce Solution Architecture & Implementation Design for on Premise and Cloud operating environments.
  • Develop organisational design principles that support essential non-functional requirements such as Data Integrity, Performance, Security, Scalability, Availability and Deployability.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of cloud technologies and stay abreast of current industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Improving the security and scalability of our SystemView platform.
  • Participate in technical architecture council and other similar councils to improve overall Web and Platform design patterns and development framework.

  • Experience working with Cloud services such as Azure and AWS in the context of design and build of complex Application hosting environments at scale utilising PaaS services and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Extensive understanding of security principles as they apply to on premise and cloud infrastructure.
